Learning Languages And Teaching English As A Second Or Foreign Language

Adults trying to learn English and Spanish may feel at a loss for the time or resources to do so. You might want to go to a local school or college for classes or require a teaching method that fits in with a full time job. Do not feel at a loss as there are many resources to help adults learn English or Spanish. For people seeking assistance in learning English, there are many TESOL classes available at your local community college, or even independent learning centres. In countries where English is not the first language you can find English nationals teaching English as a second or foreign language at state schools and private classes. So for those whose national tongue is not English, there are so many ways to learn in your native country. You will even be able to fit the learning around your day job with useful night classes.

Classroom Teaching
If you are looking to learn English or a different language you do not have to do an ESL course.   Anyone can enrol in either English or Spanish classes at a community college, or a fully accredited college/university. You can use the support of your fellow classmates by studying in a large group. Also, if you learn in a classroom each time you advance on to a higher level you will feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment.

Independent Studying
If there are no formal classes that suit your needs you can choose to learn independently. Look for audio CDs with accompanying texts, preferably one with many different levels to help you progress. If you have irregular times that you can learn the language in then this is a good way. You’ll receive most of the same lessons you would find in a classroom setting, and can do them at your own pace and in your own time.

If finances are a concern, look in your local newspaper or community bulletin for study groups. You can help each other to learn the language and meet socially in coffee shops and similar places. if you have enough money you should find someone teaching English as a second or foreign language professionally and hire them.
