Humans are programmed to wither enjoy the cold or hate it. playing in the snow, building snowmen and making angels is a fun day for some people. However there are those who will do everything they can to avoid stepping outside in the cold, let alone putting one foot in the snow.

For those who hate the cold, teaching jobs abroad offer them the opportunity to get away from the winter weather all year round and enjoy sunshine whilst back home there is snow.

You do not have to be a qualified teacher to be able to teach English to speakers of other languages whether you choose to do this at home or n a foreign country. You just need to have taken and passed a TEFL or TESOL course by completing a number of hours teaching in a classroom and passing some exams and coursework. Then you are able to apply for posts around the world.

China, South America and The Caribbean are among the most popular locations for TEFL teachers to visit as they are hot when it is cold back home. Africa is a country that needs more and more English teachers too.

It can often feel like you are on holiday when you travel to these countries to teach in because of the different way of life that they live. You do however have to work hard at proving your ability and passion otherwise you could find yourself on a plane home.

Every country offers a different experience for foreign language teachers. You might have a job where there are small class sizes and few teaching hours so that you can relax for more time than you are teaching. Some countries are much stricter however with longer teaching hours. The standards in these countries are high and you will have to prove that you are doing a good job in the level of fluency that your pupils reach.

Teaching jobs abroad could become a standard part of your year if you can find a job at home that will support you. If you are in a career that you wish to progress in then I would avoid teaching jobs abroad because your employer will be unlikely to let you take two or three months off every year.
