wow i love your accent

What I really like about these Spanish lessons is that they teach you whole sentences so you learn the words in context. Dibujar = to draw – a new word to my vocabulary. Gracias a Yasmin

I don’t see ‘surgieron’ in my dictionary.
it just shows that origin is ‘origen’ in Spanish. What did I miss?

search for Surgir, origin in fact is origen but this lesson sucks. The girl always pronounce bad the last word so it makes more difficult for those who wants to learn.

so is this what the whole course is like? just audio phrases and then the english translation?
if so, i think i’ll pass
September 12th, 2008 at 10:35 am
surgieron is the past form for the verb: surgir.

I’m spanish, I live in spain, and I think that the girl pronounce very good every word!
September 12th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
For you is easy but people that are learning needs the words loud and clear.
September 12th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
yeah! maybe that’s true, but in the other hand people needs to learn how does the last words sounds! I mean, it is related with the accent, with “the sound of the complete sentence”. I’m actually learning english (sorry if I’ve got some writing mistakes) and I usually have the same problem but that makes me learn even faster!
Anyway I still thinking that the girl pronounce quite good. Here we speak three times faster!
Keep studing spanish! if you’ve got some questions…. here I am!!!!

These are meant to be a supplement to the LSLC audio course, which is actually very good. It breaks down the language step by step and helps you learn grammar intuitively instead of mechanically, e.g., it asks you to try conjugating new verbs based on examples from previous verbs, rather than explain the grammar technically. The only downside is a shortcoming that all audio courses share: translation is not as effective as direct association. Other than that, I heartily recommend LSLC.
