No está mal referirse al idioma como Español pero es más correcto decir Castellano. Dentro del Castellano hay formas dialectales y se cuentan ya por más de 6.000 distribuidos tanto dentro de España como fuera (México, Uruguay, Argentina... etc) Deberías haber dicho, "El Español que se habla en Latinoamérica" y dentro de ese ámbito especificar el país.
